Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai understood human feelings. He spoke in the language of the people and depicted indigenous characters to connect with them. A man born at a time when all vehicles of expression were restricted should dominate the language, culture, traditions, and literature for three centuries with such stronghold indicates the strength of existence.
To honor Latif’s contributions to literature, spirituality, mysticism, and cultural heritage, the day was celebrated with speeches and panel discussions and a book launch.
Jami Chandio, Dr. Sahar Gul and Parvaiz reviewed the book “I Saw Myself- Journeys with Shah Abdul Latif”, one of the publications of EFT, written by Shabnam Virmani, an Indian writer.
On such an occasion one would not forget to revive the essence of Shah’s Wayi by Allan Faqeer and the ragais of Latif from Bhit Shah. To revive and preserve pristine melodies the music was organized at the end of the program.
